REVOLUTION PRO 4K HIGHLIGHTER PALETTE REVIEW

Well hello there!
For today's post I have a review post and I am so excited to be talking about this product. It is the Revolution Pro 4K Highlighter Palette, and I have my one in the shade Rose Gold. You can also get this in Gold but I opted for Rose Gold palette, as I felt the shades would suit me better. These palettes cost £8 and you get 4 highlighters in them. On the Revolution Beauty website, this palette is described as 'Create the ultimate glow with Revolution PRO 4K Highlighter Palette. Formulated with Revolution's most intense and buttery pressed pigment formula, Rose Gold features four incredible shades; a cool white shimmer with three peach-toned shades to add warmth and dimension to all skin tones'.

Packaging
If you have seen the new Revolution Pro range then you will know the packaging is black on every product (I think...well most of them anyway). So they have followed the theme with the black packaging, and it is made of cardboard. I like the packaging of this range across all of their products as I think it looks sophisticated and sleek. Also it's not actually a huge palette, like I definitely have highlighter palettes that are a lot bigger so I can 100% take this when travelling. When I open the palette up it kind of reminds me of the Huda Beauty highlighter palettes.

Application
These highlighters feel very buttery to touch which is what you would normally expect from a high end product, however they are a little bit powdery as well. When tapping your brush in the pan, the highlighters do come across glittery and I am not a massive fan of that. I found that to make these look amazing you need to tap your brush off a few times and the glitter particles fly off, then when applied to the face you are left with this beautiful and wet looking highlighter. It also can get quite messy in the palette but that can be wiped off very easily.

Swatches

Longevity
No surprise but this lasted all day at work and still looked stunning by the end of the day. I even wore the top right shade when I was fake tanned on a night out and it looked amazing all night long! I even got a couple of compliments on it.

Opinion
I have now used this palette a bunch of times now because I love love love the formula of these! It is much different to any of Revolution's other highlighters. They need to make single highlighters or more palettes with this exact formula because I will buy them! The fact that you get 4 big pans of highlighters for only £8 plus it is super travel friendly, what more is there to ask for? The only negative thing I have to say is that I do not like the fine glitter particles but that is quickly resolved by tapping my brush off a few times.  The packaging as well looks very sleek and high end so that is a complete bonus! I can't get over the quality for such a low price, if you have not tried either of the palettes you need to get your hands on them! If you are interested in buying you can get either of them here.

So that was my review on the Revolution Pro 4K Highlighter Palette.

GLOSSY BOX OPENING | SEPTEMBER 2018

Well hello there!
For today's post we have the classic monthly Glossy Box Openings which I have been doing for almost a year now and that is crazy. My little space on the internet is almost a year old as well and I have had an amazing year with my blog I cannot wait for the future. This month's Glossy Box has a theme of going back to school and to help you get prepped and organised.

They have put this mask in the box to revive the skin for people going back to school, I am actually really excited to try this as I love face masks and have been wanting to try a bubbling mask. This mask also has activated charcoal in it which is good for blemish prone skin, and is also good for detoxing your skin, refining pores and reducing oil. It will work deep into your pores and will also clean away blackheads. I don't know about you but this sounds great to me! This retails for £4.95 which isn't the cheapest mask for 1 use but if it works it will be worth it in the long run.

Daily Concepts Facial Mini Scrubber
This does what it says on the tin, its made from soy and a natural cotton base layer which will create a rich lather. It is perfect for sensitive skin and is cruelty free, it also has a little pocket to put your fingers in whilst scrubbing. Again sounds really good and because I have sensitive skin I'm excited to put this to the test! You can get this on Amazon for £6.99.

Bang Beauty Eyebrow Cream
I have heard a lot about this brand lately so I am excited that they have something from them in the box this month. This eyebrow cream has a velvety consistency and will apply effortlessly. I don't really use eyebrow creams anymore but I will definitely give this one a go, however the one I have is in the shade auburn so not sure what that is going to look like on me. It does look quite brown in the pot so I will have to see. It also does come with a little brush which I will need to test as well, that in mind this retails for £16.80.

Karl Lagerfeld + ModelCo Lip Liner
I have been getting into lip liners a lot more recently so I was very happy to see this in the box. It has a very creamy formula and is a beautiful pinky shade. If you are into your lip liners then this will be a great addition to your collection. It is very pigmented as well! This retails for £25 but at the moment it has a sale on when I am posting this so you can get it for £17.50.

Grow Gorgeous Scalp Detox
Apparently you should be detoxing your scalp often which I didn't even know was a thing if I'm being completely honest. This has pomegranate enzymes and natural castor oil beads in it to remove the impurities that block the roots so it can boost hair growth. It is vegan and cruelty free which is good to know and you are supposed to use this 1-2 times a week as a pre-wash treatment. Considering I have not heard of a product like this I am excited to use this and see what it does for my hair. This is a deluxe mini that retails for £7.37, the full size retails for £28.

Wet Ones Be Fresh Antibacterial Wipes
Antibacterial wipes are always needed when you are on the go whether its to clean or freshen up so I think it's great they've included these. They kill 99.9% of bacteria and these are suitable for your hands, body and children. I have put them in my handbag already as they are a great travel size and you never know when you need wipes. This retail for only £1.15 which I think is such a bargain.

So that was this months Glossy Box, if you like the sound of Glossy Box then you can sign up here.
Thank you so much for reading,

ADAGIOTEA REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY!

Well hello there!
I have a bit of a different post for you guys today, yes makeup and skincare etc makes you feel beautiful on the outside what how about how you feel inside? Danielle at Adagio Tea very kindly reached out to me to ask if I would like to try some of their teas and there is also a giveaway so stay tuned to hear about that.

Just some background on Adagiotea, they have such a huge range of different types of tea. Which include: Black, Flavoured, Chai, Oolong, White, Green, Matcha, Herbal, Rooibos, Decaf, Pu-Erh and MastersThey are vegan and gluten free, any flavours are from essential oils and the traditional teas are pure leaves. Not all of the teas are caffeinated, as they also have a lovely herbal range. What makes them different is that their hand-picked teas are sourced from origin, they work directly with the farmers who produce them in their native countries. Coming straight from the source means that they are brimming with far more nutrients, they are full leaf with no added sugar and all-natural flavours.  On their website they also give you a lot of knowledge on tea which I didn't even realise how interesting it would be! They also do glassware which is beautiful and very easy to use.

Here are some of my favourite flavours:

Opinion
These teas are so refreshing, if normal tea bags don't cut it for you then you need to try these! You can tell that these are made from pure leaves and essential oils. They have such a strong smell and they all smell exactly how they are named, they don't taste as strong but depending on how long you leave the leaves to diffuse is how strong you will taste it. They tell you how much tea to put in and for how long which I think is super helpful.

Giveaway
Danielle is kindly giving away an ingenuiTEA teapot, a glass mug AND 15 small pouches of tea which makes up 150 cups! If you wish to enter this giveaway please bare in mind I will need to give your address to Danielle,  make sure you're fine with me doing that before entering.
To enter you will need to follow @alixholdenx on Twitter and retweet this tweet.

Thank you to Danielle to sending me these teas I absolutely love them!
Thank you so much for reading,

AUGUST FAVOURITES

Well hello there!
Today I have for you my August Favourites! I cannot believe it is September now, I must say this every moth but the year is just flying by. Real talk I am so excited for Autumn now and I have certainly had enough of the summer weather.

I have been using this for around 6 weeks now and I am in love with this foundation. It has such nice coverage, it's not too full its more medium but you can definitely build it to full. It is completely oil-free which I love as my t-zone can get real oily throughout the day, it has hyaluronic acid in it which helps to hydrate the skin so this is not a drying matte formula. This does not last as long as a matte foundation would on my skin but I prefer this formula as it is better for my skin type. This is high end but not the most expensive foundation on the market as this retails for £29.

I do not wear eye shadow every single day but when I do I will always use this brush to blend out the edges of the shadow. It is a tall tapered brush that effortlessly blends out the edges to make it look all blown out and pretty. No matter if I am using high end or drugstore eye shadows, this brush works an absolute treat and would definitely recommend. I got this in a set but you can buy this separately and it only costs £4.99!

As you know I love Sophdoesnails, she is one of my favourite YouTubers. She has now done a few collaborations with Revolution and they get better every time. Sophie come out with another eye shadow palette (Extra Spice), and along with this she brought out 3 nude lipsticks. The formula is so nice with these, they aren't drying matte they're beautifully creamy. They are also very pigmented, Cake is by far my favourite as it is a pinky nude shade. These lipsticks are so cheap as they retail for just £4.

My skin type is combination so when dry it can look very cakey and powdery, well this fixing spray certainly saves the day for me! It just melts all of my makeup together and because it has hydrating properties in it, it gives me that little bit of moisture back into my skin. I spray a lot onto my face just wave it dry and walah, my face looks like how I wish it would look all the time. You can get this on the Revolution Beauty website or Boots and this retails for £6.

So those were my August Favourites.

WHAT IS ON MY CULT BEAUTY WISH LIST?!

Well hello there!
I have not done a wish list post in a while and I have so much stuff I want to buy on Cult Beauty! I thought it would be a good idea to share with you my wish list and see if you are interested in any of these products or if you have any of these and what you think of them.

This is massively influenced by Sophdoesnails on YouTube as she swears by this contour shade. She says it is perfect for pale skin tones so I have been meaning to get my hands on this for a while. It is just the pan but I have a magnetic palette so I just need to actually get round to buying it. This is super cheap as it retails for only £4.50.

This is a very expensive pressed powder but I have heard so many good things about it, it is not something I will buy next week it is just something I have been really interested in purchasing. I only own 1 thing from Charlotte Tilbury and that was a primer I got for my birthday so if I would buy any of her makeup it would be a special occasion. This powder retails for £34.

Too Faced Born This Way Sculpting Concealer
This is a fairly new product in the beauty world, and has been all over the internet and YouTube recently. A lot of mixed opinions on it with the packaging as it is huge and about the formula because it is more of a hydrating medium coverage formula. Me on the other hand love a hydrating concealer as I can get dry under eyes so this may be making an appearance on my Christmas list. This concealer retails for £24.
Again this is influenced by a YouTuber (it always is) and Nikkietutorials has been loving this bronzer duo recently and this is definitely going to be on my Christmas list. The colours look stunning and the packaging is also beautiful. I also have my eye on the Blush Bouquets Palette! It is a high end product which means its expensive so this retails for £28.

NYX Concealer Palette in Light
I do have a couple of concealer palettes but not one like this where it is all just skin tone shades, I only have colour corrector concealer palettes. I want to start trying to carve out my brows to make them more defined so I will be picking this up soon! This is drugstore so it retails for only £11.

I only own 1 thing from NARS and that's the radiant concealer so I really want the foundation to go with the concealer. Again I have heard so many good things about this on YouTube and I really want to try this for myself. This retails for £35.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk
So I would like this lipstick just because it is boujee and expensive. This is a lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury and is a beautiful pinky nude shade. I am not rushing to get this lipstick but I would like it at some point as I have tried hardly any Charlotte Tilbury makeup. This retails for £24.

So that is everything on my Cult Beauty Wish List, definitely let me know if you have any of these items and what you think of them.
Thank you so much for reading,

GLOSSY BOX OPENING | AUGUST 2018

Well hello there!
Welcome to another Glossy Box Opening and this month is celebrating Pride which is amazing, and actually includes 6 FULL sized products instead of 5 so you are really getting an extra treat. These products are to make us feel empowered, bold and unique so lets dive in!

Rimmel London Sticker Tattoos
So these are the sticker tattoos that the contestants on Love Island wore on one of their party nights. They are metallic, supposed to be water proof and can last up to 4 days! These are perfect for festival season. You can pick these up in Superdrug and they retail for £4.99.

Rimmel London Ink Me Stamp Tattoo
To celebrate that love is love Glossy Box have included a super cute heart stamp tattoo. Again it is perfect for festival season as well to jazz up any makeup look. I have never personally tried anything like this but I am looking forward to giving it a go. You can pick this up in Boots and in Superdrug and this retails for £4.99 also.

Ok I am so excited about this because I didn't even know Victoria's Secret did skin care! This is the Selfie Skin Nourishing Sheet Mask, that is formulated with coconut oil to give you soft skin and insta-complexion perfection.  I love sheet masks and this sounds like a really good one so I cannot wait to give this a go. You can buy this from the Victoria's Secret Pink website and they retail for £5 each.

I believe we have received a product from this brand before, I think it was an eye shadow palette so it's nice to see familiar brands in the box. This is a lip and cheek tint that will give you a natural and healthy flush of colour. I was pretty scared of the colour of this as it looks quit dark but when you swatch it, it blends out to a very pretty light pink shade. The packaging is quite luxurious as it is in a glass bottle. You don't get a lot of product in this but as someone who does not wear products like this a lot it will last a long time. You can buy this from the Trifle Cosmetics website and it retails for £17.50 which is pretty pricey.

This is what I am most excited about because it is a liquid highlighter and it a beautiful last 8 hbronzy/ copper shade. This is a creamy gel based highlighter that is supposed to 8 hours, is lightweight and is a blinding highlight. This shade is too dark for me but the beauty with this is that you can use it not only on your cheekbones but on your  brow bones, inner corner of your eyes and your cupids bow. This would be an amazing eye shadow shade as well! You get a lot of product in this as you get 4ml which will last you a long time. It is 100% cruelty free and vegan friendly, you can buy this from the Kaleido Cosmetics website and it retails for £13.

This is a blue eyeshadow paint that is highly pigmented, long-lasting and waterproof. I don't really use blue eyeshadow but apparently the trend is making a come back! You can use this however you want either on the lid, on the lash line or even as a base. You can buy this on the 3ina website or some of their products are actually on the Look Fantastic website, and this retails for £8.95.

So that was the August Glossy Box Opening.
